Founded in 2012 by CEO Vernon Keenan, Telnexus grew out of Berkeley Logic, an IT consultancy in operation since 2007. But, the story of Telnexus begins in 2010 with Vern Keenan and local venture capitalist Nat Goldhaber.
Vern and Nat met during a home-business phone installation project. They discovered that they shared a vision for changes in the local digital phone market.
For years, small-to-medium enterprises suffered from the sloppy, boiler-room business phone sales offered by large providers. Vern and Nat knew there was an opportunity here for a new provider focused on customer service and quality. A local company, providing an end-to-end phone system, complete with Internet and managed services.
Vern began laying the groundwork for the Telnexus VoIP offering in 2011. Shortly after this he performed Telnexus’ first major VoIP installation for Toyota of Berkeley.
In 2012 Vern founded the Telnexus LLC, and in June of 2013 he opened its downtown Berkeley office doors.
Since then Telnexus has worked with many small-to-medium sized businesses, including: startups, professional service providers, medical offices, retail establishments and more.
At Telnexus we’re different from the usual big-business phone providers. We focus on the customer experience as much as the bottom line.
