Sending A Fax via Email
To send a fax your email address must be registered in the Fax Online Portal.
To send a fax using our Email-to-Fax service simply send an email using the following parameters. Email-to-Fax supports up to 5 attachments.
Attachments may be sent in JPG, PDF, Adobe PostScript, TIFF, Microsoft Word, Excel, CSV, HTML & Plain Text formats.
To: <10_digit_number>@emailyourfax.com From: authorized@email_address.com Subject: <Your Cloud Fax DID number; 10 digits only> Body: <blank>
For example, let’s pretend that at Telnexus our Cloud Fax number is (510) 555-6803. Let us say that we want to send a fax to the Hewlett-Packard Fax Test Line, at (888) 473-2963 with no cover page and an attachment. The email would be sent like this:
To: 8884732953@emailyourfax.com From: vern@telnexus.com Subject: 5105556803 Body: <blank> Attachment: <CapitalQuoteNV62278574OX2.pdf>
You can create your own cover sheet in the body of the email. Any HTML-compatible text and images will be rendered as the Fax Cover Sheet if you include the words “cover sheet” at the end of the subject line. For example:
To: 8884732953@emailyourfax.com From: vern@telnexus.com Subject: 5105556803 cover sheet Body: To: HP Fax Test Service, From: Telnexus LLC, Phone: 510-859-7000 Attachment: <CapitalQuoteNV62278574OX2.pdf>
In less than five minutes you should get a message with the subject “Email-to-Fax received from 5105556803”. That will confirm that your fax was received by the service and will be transmitted. You will receive one more email message with the title “Email to Fax” informing you if the fax delivery was successful.
You may list multiple recipients as separate email addresses in the format <number>@emailyourfax.com. You may also attach multiple documents.
If the number you are calling is busy or has another problem, one re-send will be automatically attempted. You will need to re-submit your email to make additional attempts.
Sending A Fax via Cloud Portal
Log onto the Telnexus Cloud Fax Portal here: https://secure.viewmyfax.com/ using your assigned credentials.
To send a single fax either use the Quick Fax dialog on the home page, or click Quick Send Fax.
The Quick Send Fax screen asks you for the destination information and a single attachment. If you want multiple destinations and multiple files, choose the Send a Fax option.
Managing Authorized Email Users
To manage who has access to the email-to-fax service click on Fax From Emails.
Using the portal allows for storage of all faxes sent and received. You can manage multiple DIDs to support faxing from different numbers.
